I stayed up for ages tonight, first fighting with Michael (what else is new?) and then reading excerpts from Rupert Everett's autobiography. I cannot recall ever enjoying a book as quickly as "Red Carpets and Other Banana Skins." I mean, I can slowly sink into an Anne Rice book for days. I get completely, irrevocably immersed, but the scenes that make my heart beat faster and my mind disappear into the words are dispersed between long dreamy passages that serve only to inundate my mind with familiar lush imagery. It's wonderful, but like I said: the good shit's got a price with her. With Rupert Everett, every line has some sort of unique pleasure to it; it's a pun, it's witty, it's sarcastic, it's sad, it's insightful, it's heart-warming, it's self-depricating. You feel like you've been finding a few gold coins here and there for years and now you've found a treasure chest, ushering forth an endless procession of literary golden nuggets. And the best parts, next to the amazing writing, are the juicy details he offers about other celebrities. They don't feel like conventional gossip; they feel like an honest first-hand account of these people. It's like character analysis. He gives you a sense of what it's like to be in their presence, to occupy a space in their world. I adore it. Needless to say, I've already ordered the book.

Hello hello, I just have to express what a wonderfully productive day it's been already. I shot a roll of film (which is quite the endeavor for me, considering the anal retentiveness) and I will soon find out whether it amounted to anything. I'll begin sharing my prints soon, I think. Also, I called the bank and corrected a little mishap. That was fabulous. Anyway, I should really rush off to class now and grab an iced hazelnut coffee on the way. Peace. : )

I need to adjust my GD hours. This is so counter-productive. Well, not really, because sometimes my best ideas come to me at night, but therein lies the problem: it's night. Can't really DO these things at night for various reasons.

Anyway, I was thinking: I need skinny jeans. (I wrote that simply to remind myself). And I NEED to start taking more photos. Like ASAP. So, tomorrow morning I am skipping Photo to take photos. I hate missing class, but it's for class, so there. And I don't want to just take B&W film photos, I should start taking around the digital and taking pictures of random things for fun. Trouble is, the dig is shitty. But like Tim Gunn says, make it work!

I think I'll start scanning and posting some work. And randomness. Because I need to force my mind to get used to thinking good positive productive intelligent things or I will sink into a sea of lazyness and stagnation. I am not a swamp! lol that's just what stagnation reminds me of. But it's truly a good comparison: swamp waters will not move unless disturbed; my mind will not reach its potential unless I make it.

Hey chilluns, this is definitely my first post ever. I think, in light of this momentous occasion, I must ask myself: what do I hope to accomplish with this blog?

1. Get a Pulitzer.
2. Make light of other people's genuinely awful problems while seriously dramatizing my own trivial fuck-ups.
3. Help a poor girl from the desert learn how to work it like a fierce betch.

There. Now we feel better, don't we? A little clarification goes a long way! And we're already close to finishing #1, I feel it in my frail bones.

A toast! To many great blogs to come. Ta ta!
